The museum exists thanks to an association of volunteers, who believe that a region is also understood through its most local stories. Here's who they are, and why this place exists.
The association collects, restores and passes on traces of the Second World War in Momignies and the surrounding area: objects, documents, testimonies — and also places, such as the stable of Imbrechies Castle, where the museum has found its home. In 2024, after major renovation work, the museum reopened its doors in this new setting, staying true to its original purpose: not letting these local stories be lost.
Every year, the association organises commemorations at the various memorial sites across the municipality, attended by residents and, where possible, the families of the soldiers concerned. **[to complete]** — exact dates and sites.
